Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

I signed up for the credit people’s acct and they informed me they would be making disputes on my behalf to the credit agencies. They guaranteed my score would improve and that they could get the settles accts removed. For 6 months, charged me $60 and nothing was removed, no updates, just automatic withdrawals from my acct. when I continuously contacted them for updates and info, they deflected my questions and told me it was a waiting process. Woke up today to find out they cancelled my acct and informed me they couldn’t do anything for me……except take 6 months worth of my money without performing their duties or tasks promised in the services. Very unprofessional and I’m curious as to how they are still running this company legally.
