I seen an ad on mainstream websites marketing the company ‘The B Group". I looked high and low for any negative messages or reviews didn’t find any. They also had an news report on modelnews.com. So I figured okay maybe it is legit. I then got an interview from the company and they went over their rules and handed me a contract of certain requirements that they are suppose to meet. The office looked a little skeptical but the lady named Kindra Bailey said they just got the space. I brushed that off and thought whatever she also gave me a copy of this so called contract which I will provide. They called me back with in a day or two and claimed that I am what they are looking for and glad to have me on the team. I later got an email from a lady named Christina Steiner who congratulated me and said I’m basically in for a good experience. I was excited to hear about that but then Kindra contacted me saying that I have to first pay for their next scheduled photo shoot to be published in a well known magazine. When she told me $500.00 I contemplated it for a little because I know most scams asked for money upfront and I did do my research but, I realized maybe I should invest in myself. Plus I seen they did shoots for Nylon magazine so it attracted me more and the $500.00 came with alot of benefits. So i gave half at first for it was all I had and tried to save in order to do the photo shoot in another 2 weeks. About a week and a couple days in I get a call from the owner of this bogus company named Stacey Bogard, who talks about the scheduled photo shoot and paying the rest of the money for the shoot. I kind of felt pressured into it because that was my first time hearing from her and all she can talk about is the money. I did my research on her as well to make sure its still legit. I found her on Instagram and was looking through her pictures where I seen some previous work from her so I thought everything will be alright. The day of the shoot comes around and their are other models there and it actually seems legit. A couple weeks pass and their are no email updates are calls from any of the people who were constantly contacting me before. I later get an email from Kindra the lady that originally interviewed me claiming she is no longer with the B group. This is when I knew things were more skeptical. She provided me an email for the lady that will be my new publicist to help market me as a brand which she was suppose to do. It was stated in the contract that for a month they will help me in the best way possible to get me published. The new publicist went by the name Nichole, who never contacted me back by the way. So now I’m getting pissed I reached back out to Christina who informed me that she is also no longer with the B group but she did provide me with the mail of the owner of the company Stacey Bogard. So knowing that I was scammed thats the exact person i wanted to reach out to. So to my surprise she did reply in a timely manner but she mad it seem like everything will be alright. She stated that "everything is happening from the L.A office and that they would fly out to NY to service their clients". This put me at ease for a little and thought "okay maybe my money didn’t go to waste well that’s what i hoped. Weeks went by and then I emailed her again this time no replies at all. I probably sent out about three emails asking about my money and the so called published. Luckily I kept in contact with one of the girls that I went to the photo shoot with who also was trying to get in contact with them and got no replies. She provided me with about two different phone numbers and got nothing back from any. This really took a toll on me because i already had so much going on and to lose out on $500.00 really left me in a depressive state. I contacted the B group directly instead of continuously reaching out to Stacey. I did get a bogus email back from Brittany B. claiming that they apologize and will give different benefits and claimed that their team had to go through the pictures and that the magazine will be published in September 2016. The email looked exactly liked a scam email or junk mail which really disappointed me. The app that I sent the money through said that Stacey already took the money so I would have to contact her in order to receive it. Kindra then reached out to all the models probably after her guilt and informed us that it was indeed a scam and that she was also a victim of it. I even reached out to a guy who works the B group who said he would set up a phone call between us and that obviously didn’t happen. They are thinking of filing a lawsuit or getting our money back but that’s in the air so I’m trying to get my money back by myself and to never fall for such a thing again. This all started in March its June now. 🙁
