I booked a room through hotels.com. Once I got the confirmation email I found that they planned to charge an additional $500 deposit as well as a number of other charges. I contacted the hotel directly to clarify some information that seemed concerning. The employee I spoke with was increasingly hostile and threatening. When I asked to speak to his supervisor he said “if you think I’m bad you really don’t want to talk to my manager.” I told him that I was going to dispute the charges with visa because it was clearly a scam, the employee said “go ahead, everybody tried and they never get it so good luck.”
