Total money lost $874

Type of a scam Home Improvement

EXORBITANT FEES CHArGEd for no service

They were at our house for maybe 20 minutes. . We paid the $874.21 of a total bill of $1431.94 on debit as they wouldn’t accept credit card and were aggressive and persistent that we had to pay in this way.

Ten days later, we called them, they said they said that parts were on back order.

The technician after 20 minutes investigation charged us to inform us we needed to spend $1500 for repairs.

They required $80 to come out. Tech did a visual of dishwasher and said needed a seal to be replaced. A new sump assembly. Dryer with no heat and said we needed a new heater. Needed a freezer handle technician told us we needed an entirely new drawer. We passed on this.

prepaid $874.21 before he left on debit.

When we called back to see when they were coming back we were told that parts were on back order.

We canceled the order and asked for a refund expecting a refund of $ 794. 21 (forfeiting the $80 service call) and they agreed to only refund $557. Therefore it cost more than $300 for no service or repair.

This is highway robbery and this company should be made accountable

Repeated calls only revealed no resolutions.

We asked for a refund and was willing to pay for 80 service call

. They refused. More calls, talked and was told they don’t refund. When pressed harder, she agreed to pay a portion back.

Not received yet-we will see how shady they are on Friday.

They don’t actually service or repair anything and hold you hostage with their service fee.

Total money lost $90.40

Type of a scam Home Improvement

It began when Covid first hit on April 17,2020 when I called for a repair on my washing machine. The washing machine was 13 years old so I was not sure if it could be fixed. The repair person arrived and spent literally 5 minutes diagnosed the situation and told me that it was an LG product and very expensive to fix. He told me it would cost well of 650$ and charged me the 90.40$ for the call. Then, on July 17th we could not find a repair shop to come, so, we called The A Team Appliance Team again. The same person arrived for this diagnosis. He arrived in a car not a service vehicle. He came in and in less than 5 minutes he told us what the problem was which was the compressor and it would cost $1,930.00 + Tax to fix. He charged me the 90.40$ and left. After he left I got thinking that this is a scam as both situations were identical. Then a friend of mine who was here to witness what transpired called LG direct. LG gave us the name of the local LG repair person. We contacted him and he confirmed it was a compressor. We paid 281$ taxes included for the repair. We did tell the LG repairman our story and he seemed to believe that The A Team Appliance Repair had no intention of fixing the refrigerator hence the over quote which was the price of a new fridge, but just to collect for his service call.
