Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I answered a online ad to wrap my car for coke soda company. To make a couple hundred a month. They text me. And told me they would send a check I needed to cash and then pay the painter. I received it today a was suspicious when the check was not from coke. And the name and address dont link with the name on the check or the coke company. I went to a check cashing place that said it was a scam. And now they keep texting threating to call the fbi
