Type of a scam Phishing

There was an ad on the Weather Network from Telus saying I could win an iPhone. It looked like a Telus website. They said I could have the phone but had to pay $3 shipping. The site asking for credit card information did not look like a Telus site. Today I received a text from 011 992 93000726554 asking for the shipping costs. It said More info: desperately.pw

Type of a scam Tech Support

The Tech Support scam isn’t new to us, but these people have been identifying themselves and Telus and even have gone so far as to give "badge numbers" etc to seem more legitimate. They claim a problem with our internet and try to get into our computers. We have been receiving 1 or 2 calls a day for a week. I did report to Telus, but heard nothing.

Type of a scam Utility

The email came through with a telus logo saying "Your Telus payment was failed" With a button to press on that said Update your payment.

"To prevent the suspension of all services update and confirm billing information today". It took you to a page asking for SIN etc. I stopped at that point as I had questions. Telus has recently gone to paperless billing and was wanting you to pay through their website. I have continued to pay through my bank. I checked with my bank and Telus had been paid for my last bill. Today I went to Telus at Hillside mall to ask about the email. They said it was a hacker that there had been a lot this last few week and to ignore it. I felt they didn’t take it very seriously. I didn’t give out any information but I worry about others as it was quite convincing.

Type of a scam Phishing

Received an official-looking email from TELUS telling me that they are having trouble with my current billing information, and that to prevent suspension of all services I should update and confirm my billing information today. There’s a button to push "Update Account Now." I may be a senior, but I’m not that stupid!!! I replied to the email telling them it was a SCAM, there’s no way I would share my banking information with them and that I would report their email both to Telus (good luck in getting through to them) and to the local BBB. The email address that popped up on "Reply" was [email protected] Please alert Canadians not to fall for this scam. I checked my bank account and the payment went through as expected — I was not in default with Telus.
