I was on my computer and all of a sudden a screen flashed up shouting "Warning, you have a virus! Do not close this window or shut off your computer as you will not be able to use it again! Call the number provided to fix this problem!" Over and over again! I was so scared that I called them. They then asked to remotely get in to my computer to fix it. They then went thru my files, uninstalled my original virus program telling me that it was an out of date version and that is why it did not find the virus. It took hours for them to scan my computer and in the end told me thousands of files were infected. They then ask if you want them fixed there would be a one time fee. so I payed and also bought more coverage. I contacted my other virus company and wanted my money back and after I told them my story they alerted me to the scam. I also reported them to my bank and since I authorized the payment they couldn’t do anything. This happened in October and still have not received my refund. And now I am writing this. I am on disability and also feel very violated! Please don’t let this happen to you.
