Type of a scam Tech Support

I’m reporting for a friend of mine, a senior citizen who lives in assisted living. The friend received a phone call from, whom I later found on caller-ID, was a number belonging to Tech Elite However, the woman on the phone stated she was with Microsoft and needed access to my friend’s computer for updates. My friend gave permission and the woman took control over the computer. She then asked my friend to buy $50 in I-Tune cards for payment. When my friend told the woman that she didn’t have a car, the woman told her to walk to the nearest store & bring them back to give her the numbers on the I-tune cards. Thankfully my friend contacted me from another phone & I told her it was a scam. When my friend told the woman this, the woman hung up and her control of the computer stopped also.
