I was on the IRS website obtaining a EIN # however I didn’t realize until later that it took me to another site that charged me $247 for an EIN number. I have been trying to call the establishment and constantly get a recording and a representative never comes online. I have a copy of the receipt of the $247 however, I am unable to reach anyone by phone or email.

The company claims to provide EIN numbers, and looks like the IRS… in very small print if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page it says they are not affiliated with the IRS. They never provided the service any ways scammed me out of 247.00. When I tried to get a refund they initially provided fraudulent information about keeping EIN’s open and tried to charge 70 dollars for that service, or 25 dollars for attempted to cancel my business. I then received an e-mail saying I could not receive a refund because they had provided me the EIN (which they had not) when I stated I would call the authorities and notify BBB the money is said to have been returned, we will see. Either way its a scam, EIN are free! they charge between 247.00 and 297.00 for them… It looks really similar to the actual IRS website and unlike other companies who charge a small fee to help you with paperwork, I think they are collecting social security numbers for fraud.
