Total money lost $3,985

Type of a scam Employment

She had contacted me in regards to a job & found my resume on indeed. So we had emailed back and forth for 2 weeks or so she had sent me a check for supplies needed for the position. So I had deposited the check into my acct sent her proof of the deposit receipt 6/2/2018. Today when I was at the bank they had withdrew the check 2 times and put me in the negative 3985 and now once I’ve tried to contact her about it I can not get ahold of her. Just her “receptionist” that somehow knew about everything and said “the position has been filled” which is fine but when I asked about the extra money took “there is nothing I can do” is what I got.

I also experienced this scam. The contract stated:

Place of work:

Your normal place of work will be flexible and will be from office will be open downtown upper next week or from home in a remote location.

Job title: Executive Assistant/ Customer Service Representative and Executive Payroll Accounts Payable

Pay:

Your wages will be $39 per hour and will be paid weekly "in by" Card/Check.

If your personal circumstances do change at any time you should inform Katherine Malberg accordingly.

You will recieve funds from the company to purchase the necessary software you need to get started.

Signed on behalf of the "T M Corporation LLC" Powered By (DISA)..

In the email, there were some grammatical errors and the company was once referred to as MT Corporation.

The person sending the emails as Katherine Malberg will send an "Employment Eligibility Verification" form to complete via email and mail a fake check via FedEx to cash. The person will only email you. The number they provide is only used for text and when you call the main company number, it states that it is TM Corporation and if you want to contact Hanneli Rupert press option 2 and it goes to voicemail.

I was contacted via email stating that my resume was found on ZipRecruiter. I was told there are 16 Executive Administrative Assistant and Executive Payroll Accounts Payable positions available. The first email asked that I confirm my interest and the sender would send me an interview question and job descriptions. I confirmed my interest. I then received an email asking me to confirm my name, address, and phone number. Without providing this information, I then replied asking for the name of the company. I then received a response stating the company name as "M-T Corporation LLC." It also stated that "The company was founded in 2005, and our head office is located on the IBM premise in Boulder, Colorado." They claim to be paying $39/hour for data entry and scanning service that can be performed from remotely or from one of their "21 branch offices in OH. WI, MN, IA, NY, TX, FL, CA, TN, AZ, MO, WA, PA, GA, CT, IL, WA, AR." The email then asked that I answer the following questions: What’s your previous/current pay hour/annually?

Do you have a TROY M806 Secure DXi Printer Datasheet Fax Machine?

Are you currently employed?

Are you willing to work flexible or long hours?

When would you be available to start?

How would you like to be Paid? Weekly Or Bi-Weekly/ Pay Check, Direct deposit or Wire Transfer?

What bank do you operate with?

The email ends with the sender (Rupert, Hanneli) stating that a "paycheck" will be sent for training materials and training would start immediately after.
