I received a priority mail, flat rate envelope in the mail. When I opened the envelope there was a typed 1 page letter and a cashier’s check for $2985. The remitter’s name is John McDowell, someone I have never heard of. The letter stated that upon receipt of this letter that I was to text an acknowledgement to the listed phone number. The letter instructed me to complete a survey that I applied for on line for at Survey Monkey and that I should send my report to [email protected] The instructions were that I should deposit the check into my account the next morning and proceed to Walmart to complete the survey. Once at Walmart I was supposed to send funds to two other individuals via MoneyGram. For this "survey" on Walmart money center, I would keep $200 of the $2985 funds and if I completed the "assignment" within 24 hours, I would "earn" an additional $200 for my next survey.

Secret shopper scam. Received check. Was to go to Walmart and send them $1500 keep $200 for myself. Check is fake. Letter is grammatically incorrect. Only text number provided. If you deposit check it will bounce. Beware!!

On November 4, 2015 I recd an email to work at home (mystery shopping) and they sent a check $3150. According to the ltr they want me to go to three different stores to purchase three IPhones. I was instructed to mail the IPhones to them and send a text msg to request the address. Salary is $250 and leftover $650. Deduct the tax from the leftover. I will email the ScamPulse.com the information recd to complete the report on the scam.
