I called and pressed the button to be put on their “do not call list” and I even called again and spoke to someone. The first time they hung up on me right away. I called back again and talked to a woman and told her I didn’t have any loans and that I want to be put on the do not call list. She said she was doing that and we hung up.

On July 10th, 2020 at 1:33pm I receive a call from 202-932-0048. I didn’t answer. They left a message. They said on the message this is agent 3941, student debt relief program. We believe your student loans quailfy for student loan relief. Call is back at 202-932-0048 reference # ******.

Today 7-10-2020 After I got off work at 5:25 pm I called that #202-932-0048. A nice young male voice answered and I told him I had a reference #. He said before I get that let me confirm some of your personal information so that I will be able to pull up your loan information to see if you qualify. He asked my name, email address, confirm my phone #, asked my birthday. He said we emailed me a code that would allow him to pull up my loan information. I told him I did not feel comfortable giving my personal information out to who knows who. He proceeded with a very convincing speal about his company is a 3rd party company that helps people to see if they qualify of loan forgiveness or at least relief with a better deal. He asked are you currently or before covid have you been participating with any kind of payment relief plan with my current student loans? I asked what does that mean? He said where they base your payment on your income. He asked if i was employed? I said I was in a program before I was working but now not sure. He asked if that made my payments manageable? What were my payments? I told him yes that they were probably more manageable now that I was employed. I asked what was his program? Can you send me some information about it? He went into how his company helps people see if they qualify, your student loans are probably through Naivent,.. He rattled off several names ….i said yes Navient. He also said they probably started you loan off so low of payments and they aren’t even covering the interest. then each year you loan payments go up and year after year, you payments get to $700 a month and you end up owning 40 to 50 thousand on a $20,000 student loan. Naivent was one of the biggest scams out there. He asked me if I heard of FanneMay? I said yes. He said with were dealing with such over inflatted payback problems and got in problems with the Federal government, they ended up being taken over by Navient. He said he would help me to see what kind of deal they could get for me and after I will be able to go in there and change my password, if that made me feel more comfortable, and even if I didn’t choose to go with his company that he promised this call would be of value to me. He said if I give him the code he sent me that he would be able to see if I qualify. At this point I looked at my email and sure enough at 5:28 pm there was an email with a code I could use to reset my password. I then thanked him for the information and hung up the call. I didn’t give him the code and I feel if was a good thing to report this. I will include a screen shot of the email. I would like to know if this is a genuine student relief program.

This person calls multiple times a day saying the same thing. “ this is Emily Calling about student loan forgiveness” .

The area code is always local and prefix is 803-413. The last 4 numbers change after I block the number. I started calling back some times a guy answers and says stop calling me. Or what do you want? I have left voicemail and text at the numbers asking them to stop. This needs to be handled. They need to be made to stop. This harassment.

Got a call from a "Denise Michaels" at 844 901 0209 who left a message to return the call to have 90% loan repayment reduction. She said her id number was 4251 and that the code I needed was SQ0919. When I called back I talked to a man who was clearly not a native English speaker and hard to understand. The message had included a " Mathew Court Case" that it appeared I qualified under as part of a civil lawsuit, but the man I spoke with discounted the lawsuit and said he could help if I just paid a couple of payments up front. It was clearly a scam. I live in Pensacola, FL, but I don’t know where the people were calling from. Message was left on Oct 21, 2019 and I returned the call Oct 22, 2019.

I was sent a text message that asked me to call back that number. I did call back the number some man answered. He asked me if I was intrested in student loan forgiveness for up to 90% or more forgiveness. I said yes he asked me for information like who my loan was through, the correct spelling of my first and last name,

and for the E mail address. I told him and then he told me that the email address that I gave him was not correct and wanted to know if I had any other email adresses. He also asked me for my date of birth. He then told me he needed either my account number or my social. I told him let me look to see if it the email I received had my account number on it because I was not comfortable giving out my social and then he hung up on me.

Claims to be student loan forgiveness. When u answer phone it is a recording. Then after you press 5 it is a foreign person. Sounds like a person from India. I asked why they are calling me because I have no student loans then the person hung up. When you try to call back it says number is not in service.

So people from "Student loan forgiveness " call me every day all day. I have gotten over 20 calls from them in a day at one point. When I pick up it’s a computerized thing saying stuff about student loan forgiveness and something about hearing more or talking to someone press 1 or if I would like to be taken off the call list press 9 (or some other number I cant exactly remember) before I kept pressing 9 and they would still call me. I finally got tired of the repeated calls so I pressed one to actually talk to someone. When they answer they said this is "so and so" cant remember who they said "are you calling about student loan forgiveness?" I said "actually no lm calling cuz I have requested multiple times to be taken off your call list and I’m still getting calls, so you can either take me off your call list or I’m calling the police for harrassment " (which I know the police are not the ones to go to for this). Before I could finish talking they hung up on me and yet are still calling me repeatedly from different numbers. I’m starting to get very mad.

Type of a scam Government Grant

I have been getting phone calls for the last year or two from people who claim to be from the government with student loan forgiveness and that I need to give them my student loan ID and the amount of debt I have. I have never given them my information, but have questioned them heavily about their motives. The first person you talk to is always aggressive and angry when you do not cooperate. They tell you that you are wasting their time and they will call someone who wants their loans forgiven. They demand you give them your information before they will transfer you to "The specialist". I’ve tried to get transferred to this specialist without giving my information, but they don’t allow it. I’ve asked for my number to be removed from the call list MULTIPLE times because if this were a legitimate government organization they would kindly oblige. They don’t, each time they disconnect the call abruptly. I keep blocking the numbers they call from, but they create new numbers. Everyone I know has been getting these calls. I’ve spoken with my loan provider who advise it is a scam and many people have lost thousands of dollars over it. NOTE: the information below is not based on a specific person. It is based on the fact that people have previously fallen for this.

They call me on the hour every day. They are violating the fair debts and collections Act by the multiple number of calls I get. I am disabled do not owe any loan debt. And the cause of my disability I cannot rest during the day with their constant calling. Why should I have to turn my phone off to avoid their phone calls and not enjoy calls from people I want. When I try to ask them to not call me they simply hang up and call me an hour later. I’m very irritated tired and haven’t got much sleep because of this issue.
