I received a letter with a check enclosed that states I was approved (then elsewhere states I was pre-approved) for this new Student Loan Assistance Program (SLAP). I was provided a plan number, and it states to contact within 24 hours to speak with an advisor.

I realized this is nothing I have ever heard of, and looks very phony. I googled the address and saw many other people talking about this scam, some of whom who have called and been asked a ss#, and were going up on when they would not provide it. Several searched people conducted found a UPS store or an Italian restaurant at this location. I had seen enough and did not continue looking for any additional information, I have plenty now to confirm my suspicion that this should be reported.
