Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Contacted initially through LinkedIn via someone I knew to be a Secret Shopper. Once I was "approved" I was sent a Cashier’s Check for $3450.00 with instructions to follow. She then texted me and email me with instructions. After deducting $400 as payment for my first assignment, I was to proceed to Walmart Stores and purchase Walmart gift cards worth $3000.00. They could only be in denominations of $500.00. They wanted me to evaluate the quality of customer service, delivery, condition and arrangement of cards at the store, how long to get service, etc.. After purchasing the cards, open the pack, scratch off the label to reveal the code on the back of the cards, take a picture and email them back to her. Don’t let anyone know that I’m a secret shopper. Complete this task in 24-48 hours.
