Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

Scott said his company was a direct lender and approved a refinance loan at a very low-interest rate for my house based on my good income regardless of my poor credit score. He asked for money-$1750 in advance to pay for lawyer’s fees and appraisal and $3500 to pay off my second mortgage at a discount. After a few calls were answered and I was asked to wait for funds to arrive, delayed by bad weather, I have not heard anything from them. I also was told not to pay my mortgages for 2 months since his company would pay for that from the new loan. I called the FBI and they needed a larger monetary amount of fraud before they could pursue this. Hopefully, enough people wronged can gather together and then the FBI will help us.

This supposed mortgage lender does have a web page which makes fun of the Better Business Bureau and has no phone number or address listed and would not take my info for them to contact me.

My daughter received a call from John at State Street home loans (she and husband had been in the market for refinancing mortgage). He had good rates/terms, so she sent his info over to me and I applied as well. I sent all the requested documentation (banking and mortgage stmts, insurance docs, W2, paystubs, etc), and then he told me he needed $1750 up front to cover closing costs. When I questioned this, he explained that a 3rd party would handle closing, so we needed to pay up front with a cashier’s check so they could proceed with appraisal. Time has come and gone, John disappeared with my money and I’ve never heard from him again. He was paid at the end of August 2019. I’ve been counting on that refinance, now instead I feel old and incapable and must pay to monitor my credit since they have every piece of identification they would ever need for me. I hope they get caught

We were called offering to lower our mortage in which we had been looking for a company to help with this. We we called by one person and transferred to Kevin Baker at State Street Home Loans. He went over our mortgage and no credit scores would be pulled was based soley on income. Sent him copy of pay stubs and mortgage. He calculated new rate sent us paper work we signed and we sent back paper work with 3000 and was told would settle in 30 to 45 days Spoke him several times about process and he would be contacting our bank. Told us not to pay mortage now we are 90 days behind on mortgage. Have sent numerous emails and left numerous messages over the last 2 weeks. Cannot get any more return emails of phone calls. Have copies of all emails sent and responded to along with original paperwork. Called yesterday8/21/19 someone name Shawn answered phone said was senior manager and he woud check into situation and have Kevin call back and still no return phone calls. Company appeared to have legitimate web site and have sent inquiries on website without any return repsonse. This has been going on since the beginning of June and we were suppossed to pay new mortage on August 15, 2019 but never settled to pay mortgage.
