Type of a scam Employment

Have received multiple texts and calls addressed to my minor child on my cell, trying to recruit for employment oppurtunities. When I haven answered the calls, I ask how they got my number and my childs name, they immediately disconnect. When I have called the number from the text, the call was automated. I asked to speak to a customer service agent and the call disconnects. When I visited the website and called the customer service number, the agent I spoke agreed to put my number on a do not call list but would not tell me how they obtained my number and eventually disconnected the call. I have reported this to my cell carrier in an attempt to have these texts/calls blocked.
