Watch out! Always check to see if the company exists through the ScamPulse.com and White Pages. Trust your gut. The fact they didn’t answer any of my questions and the only payment types they accepted was the biggest tip off. Once I started poking around to see if they existed my fears were confirmed. I was looking online to purchase a puppy and came across Star Puppy Shop, also known as American Breeders. I found a puppy I would like to purchase. After reading all the information on the website, I was satisfied that this would be exactly what I was looking for. I filled out the online application and in a short time I received an email saying the puppy I had chosen was indeed available and my app had been approved. I was sent a copy of the invoice and the instructions on how to wire the payment. I sent them the $500 as per the invoice. The next day, I get an email from the shipping carrier (Pacific Pet Movers) saying that a new law had went into effect 7 days ago that required insurance be put on the puppy in the amount of $950, but that I would get 98% of that refunded when the puppy arrived safely. I refused to send any additional money. I received a couple more emails trying to get me to send the shipping company the money. I refused. I have called them several times, emailed them, with no response.

Purchased 2 pure bred German Shepherd puppies from Star Puppy Shop for $420 a piece. Talked to a man on the phone and requested we wire the money through Western Union to receive the puppies via air mail within 48 hours. The man contacted me again requesting $950 for refundable insurance on the puppies and crates. I was contacted again requesting $850 for money to provide compressed cages to keep the dogs calm during flight. This was when I realized it was a scam and contacted the FBI.
