my ****** account was closed when I when I tried to check on the status of an order, I spoke with customer service and they did some research and found that there was an attempt to purchase playstation gift cards on my ****** account, with further research they informed me that there were several addresses from foreign countries, including Mexico, but not to worry they could clean up my computer and sell me a antivirus plan from adguard for $600 for 2 years, I fell for the offer because they made it sound urgent that this matter needed to be cleared up immediately to prevent any further information being obtained from my now hacked computer, it took 2 hrs to complete the cleaning, he showed me the before and after screen shots when was done, it was not until this point that I was instructed to purchase a money order, no other payment would be accepted and to send it priority mail and call them with the tracking number as soon as I sent it, I was not comfortable with this and did some checking with my **** *** plan and had them check my computer they did a scan and found some suspicious programs and removed them including the program for Adguard, and that they sold me the same type of protection I already had and advised me not to send and money order for payment, I do not believe they did any thing illegal, just underhanded by taking advantage of me to convince me to purchase a very inflated price for the 2 year plan I did ask the technician several times about my **** *** plan and he informed me that my **** *** plan would not be able to take care of the issue with the hacking of my computer. I have not made any payment and have no intention to and if they reach out to me I will inform them I will not be sending a money order and that I have reported the situation to the better business bureau
