Type of a scam Phishing

A representative of Sperian Energy came to our residence today. She asked to see a copy of my First Energy bill so that she could confirm my account information. I told her that I hadn’t changed my energy supplier. She said that was ok because First Energy went bankrupt and they were taking over. She was just going to check my rates to make sure that they would be charging me the correct rate. I asked if there was another way that I could take care of this with First Energy, and she said probably not. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable providing my information to her and she left. I reported this to my neighborhood block watch because we have many elderly living in our neighborhood. She had also been visited by a different representative of the same company. Our block watch leader also contacted the Northwood Ohio Police Department.
