I applied for a job posting on Monday, June 30th on LinkedIn which was for a Product Marketing Manager position: <span title="https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/1905096636/?midToken=AQGzMwE4sf_IqA&trk=eml-jobs_applicant_applied-applied_jobs-12-applied_job&trkEmail=eml-jobs_applicant_applied-applied_jobs-12-applied_job-null-3okzvs%7Ekc2a1dlt%7Ek9-null-jobs%7Eview

The hiring manager name Niocle B. contacted me via the application I sent and told me to contact them:

"Hi *****,

I reviewed your application for our Product Marketing Manager job at Special Fire Utensils, and I’m impressed with your experience and background. I wanted to follow up the opportunities

Interviewer Email: [email protected]

Interview Status: Open

Interview Code : Z#CSR101

Wire ID: @sfujobs

To proceed with the interview follow the instructions below.

Wire is built for organizations that need to protect their documents, and secure their communications across teams and with clients and partners. As secure as it gets. Download the wire app (app.wire.com) and send a message on wire @sfujobs to receive a Video interview assessment question."

When speaking to them on the app they had me do a video assessment which was recording myself answering questions and on the last questions they asked for 2 forms of id, which I gave them, which was my driver’s license and passport. I did the video assessment on July 1st at around 10:30 pm and sent my info to them on July 2nd at 11:40 am.

The next day Friday, July 3rd they sent me a weird job offer and email, which I thought nothing of, thinking they were a international company. Re-looking at it and having the conversation I was having with them today, 7/6 they were asking for money as seen below:

"Before i connect with the finance which is tomorrow for payment

1:- Due to pandemic( Covid-19) we currently don’t have dispatchers working.

You would have to purchase a (High security check paper Business ) which is about ($25-$30) at Walmart or Versa Check then the finance will Authorize payment with the company account information and Amount For you to print.

And you’ll have access to make use of the remain check for your Bi-weekly pay in future.

NOTE: You’ll be reimbursed

You can go to the staples store to pick one or send me your Zipcode and city to locate a store nearby for you"

I have since put a fraud alert on my credit reports, downloaded my credit report and froze all credit reports with all 3 credit bureaus.

Please see attached PDF for offer. If you need more info of the conversations and such I have them but can only send one file. Please contact me at *********************** for more info regarding this.

Thank you for all your help.

I got the same job offer and now they are asking me to fill up and submit the forms ( W-4, Direct Deposit, Reimbursement form ) . I did not purchase anything. It is just good to be true about the benefits, pay and the resources that they are providing for the job. No face to face contact at least video meeting / no phone calls, no privacy act on the company’s website.
