Type of a scam Utility

The call shows up on caller ID supposedly from South Carolina Electric & Gas — they tell you that your electric service will be “interrupted in the next thirty minutes due to nonpayment.” They then give you a number to call (1-800-408-0117) to call “immediately.” DO NOT CALL – I reported this to SCE&G and was told that they are already aware that “customers have called the number and given them money.”
