I received voice mail stating:

“That there is a vehicle enforcement action filed on your Social Security number for criminal activities so when you get this the message, return this call as soon as possible. Our number is *** * *** *** before we begin with the legal proceedings thank you and have a nice day…”

I did not return call, but googled it and found that earlier this month, residents on the East coast were reporting the same type of calls resulting in attempts to trick return callers in to revealing personal information.

I received a call from a man saying he was with the Social Security Administration and that I had received an increase in my benefits. I was talking to this man and he was asking for information. He asked me to verify my social security number which I did (but shoudn’t have). Then he asked to verify my bank routing information. This is where I realized this was a scam. The person got frustrated with me and pushing me to give this information.
