I received multiple call from 818-518-9422 and 216-282-5987 with messages stating "I am Jennifer (or Nathan) regarding your ADT home security system that we sold you. According to Our records your systems is due for a free upgrade at no extra cost and in most cases a monthly rate reduction. Please return our call directly at this number." I returned the call to 818-518-9422. Jennifer described the upgrades and rate reductions that I would receive, She reiterated I was a valued customer and entitled to these upgrades, but then said she would terminate my contract with ADT and start a 36 month contract with Brinks. I’m on month-to-month service with ADT, with no contract commitment. I asked who she worked for and she was reluctant to say, but finally said Skyline. I asked for direct contact info and she denied that request. I advised her that I felt this predatory marketing was deceiving, as her message and phrasing strongly implied that she represented ADT. I feel this is a classic example of a ‘SLAM’ approach. I contacted Brinks via text at (469-513-8685) per their website, and they indicated that Skyline does not represent Brinks. Skyline should be encouraged to adjust their sales messaging to: ‘We are a competitor of ADT and believe we can provide value in helping you switch for lower cost.’
