Type of a scam Tech Support

They reached via a pop-up on my computer that stated my laptop was infected woth a serious virus. It further stated that I must not close or restart my comliter or else I would lose all valuable data, and possibly irreversible damage my hard drive. Finally the statment said to remedy the situation I needed to call Microsoft support at the number given which was 855-873-5665. They later gave me a dofferent number for future "tech support". During the phone call they explained what was "wrong" with my computer. (I have been having NO problems at all) and then asked for remote access to fix it which i stupidly gave them.They then showed me different tech dupport plans ranging from $149 to $499 for 1 to 5 years… I chose 1 and paid them… It wasnt til after i paid them that I thought to look them up under "scams" and there they were!!! So i canceled my card, and turned off my laptop as they were still on it remotely. They realed me in my posing as Microsoft partner.

Consumer called the BBB stating he had a call from SK Tech Services who told him he had a virus on his computer and they needed to get in to it and repair it for him. Said they were with Microsoft. Turned out to be the "tech support" scam
