Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

On 6/13/2019 I recieved a Priority Mail 2-day letter with a check for $2,997 (written from Global 1 Credit Union, Remitted: Traces M Audelo-Nunez, signed by (what looks like- Donn A Bland). The letter’s return address was from: Poyner Spruill LLP, 2210 N Turin St. STE B, Charlotte NC 28206-2772. The name of the company on the letter say "SHOPPERS INC" from a Jesse Miller. It’s instructions for a secret shopping job. Asked me to:

"Step 1: DEPOSIT/CASH Depending on your bank, you might be able to cash on the spot or be required to deposit for 24 hrs.

STEP 2: DEDUCTIONS: A soon as it’s cashed. Deduct your pay ($350.00) for this assignment. If you complete your survey within first 24hrs of parcel delivery, you get an additional $100. This is included with your pay to bring it to ($450.00)

STEP 3: BONUS (IF YOUR SURVEY IS COMPLETED WITHIN THE 12 TO 24 HRS ONLY) You get a fast start survey bonus of $100. This will bring your total pay to $450.00 instead of $350.00. Try your absolute best to meet up with the deadline. THIS BONUS IS ONLY VALID FOR SURVEYS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED WITHIN FIRST 12 TO 24 HOURS OF PACKET DELIVERY.

STEP 4: YOUR SURVEY EBAY/AMAZON/ WALMART GIFT CARDS. (YOU ARE REQUIRED TO VISIT TWO OR MORE STORES TO BUY GIFT CARDS)

*I was asked to buy $2,500.00 worth of gift cards.

STEP 5: (UPON COMPLETION OF TASK, YOU ARE TO PROVIDE BELOW DETAILS AS YOUR REPORT/FEEDBACK TO US)

*It has a list of 7 questions for me to answer on my shopping experience and the tells me to scratch off the back panel of each card to reveal the codes and to send clear pictures of each card along with the receipts to the email and phone number provided ([email protected], (774) 553-2079). And says I will be paid a commission immediately after it is recieved.

* I called Golden 1 Credit Union to report a possible fake check, and they confirmed that the check is no good and that they were aware of the fraud going on.
