Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Short version, after several correspondence, a check was overnight to us, we were to deposit it and after check clears, we issue a cashiers check to shipping company and give it to them when they pick up vehicle. The check had two different states on it, Alicia A*** had two different email addresses, and the overnight package was shipped from Florida. I went to Idaho Central Credit union on *** and talked with *** ***, he call the fraud department and they indicated it was differently and kept check. I am supposed to contact the Alicia when check clears, it will appear to clear and funds will be available per Credit union. Now should I let this Alicia know it cleared or let her know it is a scam?
