Name of the emailer goes by Kathy Green. Here is the email they sent just now:

Upon your verbal agreement, I spoke with my client and got final confirmation that a check will be mailed next week. You will have to deduct $100 as your part payment that should cover for logistics to the shooting venue.

There would be a extra balance on the check that I need you to transfer to the studio manager for booking of shooting venue, date and time(Saturday or Sunday preferably ?). The shooting venue, date and time will be with a studio near you. I will communicate that information after bookings have been confirmed.

This is a new clothing line with little or no experience. Being the first photo shoot we made this sort of arrangement to have each models send money for the bookings so we can have a list. The reason also being that we are giving a $100 upfront that would be deducted from the amount on the check to cover for transportation and we thought we can just have all the funds together in one place for easy sorting.

You will get your balance of $1,100 on the day of shoot.
