My daughter received a call from a man who told her she qualified for a government grant of $8,130, which would be transferred into her account. He asked for a $590 fee and she went to Walmart to wire the money to Shawn Russell 33 Liberty St New York, NY 10095. His number is 646-593-7774. He called again and said he needed another $250 and she sent it. He called again and asked for $300 and told her to wait 30 min for the grant to be transferred to her account. She had given him her debit card number and bank account number for him to transfer the money into. He called yet again and asked for another $290 but she didn’t have any more money to send. My daughter called me crying because she realized she had been scammed. I called this man and he still assured me that if my daughter sent the $290 she would get the grant and if she didn’t he would guarantee she’ll be reimbursed in full. She sent him a total of $1,140. This man had an Indian accent.
