Type of a scam Phishing
Not 100% sure that this was a scam, but I believe it to have been the start of one. I received a phone call at 12:05 PM on March 2, 2017 from 858-484-6281. The caller ID said "Shannon Scott." The caller identified herself by a name different than the caller ID. Her first question was: "Is this (my name)?" My instinctive answer was "yes." She then asked if I was still interested in home renovation (or home improvement) I responded "no, who is this?" and she hung up. I tried to call the number back and got a recording that said: "You have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service." I know that scammers can use a recorded "yes" to authorize fraudulent phone transactions, etc. I am using this forum to document the occurrence.
