Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Received a letter stating that I had been selected to be a secret shopper at Walmart and that I needed to complete a survey about my service when shopping. Included with the letter was a check for $993.00. $270 was mine to keep for my services and if I completed the surveys within 24 hours, I could keep an extra $100 for a total of $370. I was to wire the remaining balance via moneygram and then complete a survey on my service there. Upon wiring the balance, I was to send the reference number. Fortunately for me moneygram flagged the transfer, and refunded the money to me. I have to go to the bank and contact the sheriffs dept tomorrow to report this. My bank info has probably been compromised.
