Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received a check in the mail in the amount of $2,955.00 to be a secret shopper. I received directions to deposit check into my checking account. I had to send a text to the number above, and let the company know I deposited the check. Then I had to proceed to Walgreens, CVS or Krogers. I would receive a salary of $300; go to stores to purchase 8 ebay gift cards for $1600; 2 Walmart gift cards for $1,000, and gas at $55. It was requested to scratch the seal on the Ebay and Walmart cards to reveal the codes. It was requested to take pictures of the cards in batches of 4 per batch, and send to the email address listed for the scammer. It stated the cards will be used for an online shopping task, keep safely until I wait for further instruction. It was signed Best Regards, Survey administrator. There was also an Assessment Form to complete with my name address, and phone number. It listed other questions relating to the shopping experience.
