I received a phone call on Friday March 2, 2018 message on my answering machine. It was a recorded message stating that the IRS want me to call them. I checked the caller ID for their phone number, which is 202-381-2993 and the name was unavailable. I thought, if the IRS was calling me the name should show up. 2 years ago I got a call like this. nothing happened when I refused to pay the amount stated and I said this call sound like a scam. He assured me it was not. I told him to send me information by mail, he said no at first then asked for my address, I told him if you work for the IRS you should have my information then I hung up. I said to myself on both occasions, this is a scam.
