Type of a scam Phishing

We received several phone calls from a business claiming to be the processor of our credit card transactions. The company was not our merchant services provider. The called said he was one step above as the processor. He said that they could review our merchant services statement to adjust fees that were incorrectly charged.

I began to question the authenticity when the caller said it was two hours earlier where he was, yet the caller ID showed a local phone number (under a different company name Poco PaulsonOil).

When I stated that I didn’t trust the company was legitimate and wanted to check with our merchant services provider, the caller pressed that they could provide us proof of the partnership. The caller pressed for information from us continuously until we hung up. About an hour later, a different caller, but the same phone number and caller ID called back and also pressed for information.
