Offered employment for an online school. Inputted attendance and grades and did reports, etc. Was offered a hourly and W2, as well as being evaluated etc. I’m great at finding scams but this man was a mastermind.

A guy that used the name Ethan Kramer set up a company called Satellite Online Academy where high school students at risk of failing/not graduating could take our classes to help them graduate in time. He "employed" 50 of us & we did so much work for these "students" that we believed we were actually helping. Around the time our first checks were supposed to come, there was an issue. Then when that was supposedly corrected, we were told the date had been pushed to receive our checks & we were going to get a bonus added for the wait & hard work we’d been doing. When the checks were supposed to come to the teachers homes (first check to be mailed), Ethan disappeared & tried to close out all of the teachers’ access to the applications we were using to do our work & everything that had proof of us working, basically. We all communicated through Skype, so that is where the assistant director, or whatever her title was, made a group called "SOA- Scam". That’s when everything got exposed. We were all sick to our stomachs & torn because we all worked what seemed to be endless hours, Just about every day for a month. Two months for some people.

I was promised a work at home job tutoring and helping at risk students increase their GPA. The students took tests and had assignments they had to do online and I would be grading them. We were told we would be paid monthly. The week our first check was supposed to come the "company" disappeared in the middle of the night. I never received a check.

I was hired by Mr. KRAMER on 8-8-19. I worked as a teacher/tutor/data entry clerk. I worked on reputable sites entering assignments, grades, report cards, emails etc. for students enrolled in Satellite online Academy’s credit recovery program. Mr. Kramer claims to working under a Federal grant. I along with 50 other teachers put in numerous hours of work. After failing to pay our salaries twice. Which is recorded and kept up with on Homebase clock in. MR Kramer shut our accounts down and hasn’t been heard from since. The picture he uses to present himself belongs to Hudson elementary Principal Adrian Anthony located in Pasco county in Hudson Florida.

I was offered a job with Satellite Online Academy. I worked there starting Aug 2nd and paychecks was ‘mailed out’ August 16th 2019. We all woke up this morning to the entire company being wiped from all existence. All of our emails, hours, pay, basically any application we all used to do our daily job we no longer have access too. The website is down too. We never received our pay checks, the ‘program director’ is no longer taking our calls. None of us know what is going on. There is around 54 of us all now without a job or our pay!

I applied for Teacher/Tutor/Data Clerk position on Indeed.com and received an email from an Ethan Kramer regarding the hiring process. After completing the hiring process, my start date was 07/10/2019. I dedicated over 240 hours to this company. Myself and 50+ other employees dedicated almost 2 months of their lives. We were advised in the beginning that we would be paid monthly as teachers. When 07/31/2019 came, we were required to verify our time sheets through the company we used called Home Base, and that paychecks would be distributed on 08/03/2019 via mail. The following Monday, 08/05/2019, after no one had received their checks, employees started asking questions. We then received an email from the "Executive Director" explaining there had been an issue with the verification through Home Base and checks would be mailed via USPS Priority Mail on 08/16/2019. On the evening of 08/16/2019, we received an email from the same "Executive Director" explaining checks were mailed early that afternoon and attached a map of the US that showed the estimated delivery times for each state. After the estimated delivery time had passed, I requested a tracking number for my paycheck. The "Executive Director" reached out explaining that the payroll agency, ADP, will be forwarding the tracking numbers for each check on the evening of 08/20/2019. At approximately 3:30AM, I logged into my email looking for an update, only to find my "outlook account does not exist". The website for the company could not be found. All of the platforms we used to complete our work were inaccessible. I contacted a phone number that was associated with the company on Indeed.com and a receptionist at the building had never heard of Satellite Online Academy. I have filed complaints with the FBI on ic3.gov, the Federal Trade Commissions, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, as well as Indeed.com, and the Superintendent of Broward County School System.
