I received a personal loan offer from SallieMae. At the bottom of the letter was a notation: prescreen and opt-out notice: "This prescreen offer of credit is based on information contained in your credit report indicating that you meet certain credit criteria. This offer is not guaranteed if you do not meet these criteria. If you do not want to receive prescreened offers of credit from this and other companies, call 888-5-OPT-OUT or visit www.optoutprescreen.com; or write: TransUnion Name Removal, PO Box 505, Woodlyn, PA 19094; Equifax Options, PO Box 740123, Atlanta GA 30374-0123, Experian Opt-Out, PO Box 919, Allen TX; Innovis Consumer Assistance, PO Box 495, Pittsburgh PA 15230-0495."

I called the number, which was a recorded message, and asked for my name, SS #, DOB, all personal info. Like a total fool, I did give this info. I’ve been very conscious of this type of scam and cant imagine I was stupid enough to give out my information. BBB advised me to keep a sharp lookout on all of my credit.
