My broker hired Safeguard for a NY to TX move on 6/28/20. Safeguard showed up a day late with a smaller truck, due to an alleged truck breakdown! They showed up at 930 pm and never even started to load until 11pm! My price went from $1471 to $4912 for a 1 bedroom move, then demanded $445 cash for going up the stairs and to wrap my TV, which was never passed onto me prior to move! Since the truck was smaller, I had to spend another $1200 on a UHAUL box! The manager Vanessa is terrible at communicating and getting back to the customers! The foreman demanded I tip his guys well, so my items can stay, can you say Extortion? How this company can still legally operate is a miracle in itself, as their business antics are literally criminal! Safeguard showed up a day late and knew by coming late at night I would have no other options, since I had to be out of house for tenants moving in at 7am.! Look at the BBB complaints, they are all consistent at coming late or early morning, then they strong arm you into a bill 2-3 times more than original contract, along with demanding cash for stairs, tips, and to wrap items! Safeguard was supposed to be in TX for my move in date on 7/08 and showed up on 7/26, due to truck breaking down again lol! The TV I paid extra $120 to be wrapped was smashed with holes in screen, antique furniture damaged that is priceless, and a deliberate deep cigarette burn to arm of the couch, guess my tip wasn’t good enough for these scammers! When you complain to company, they direct you to claims dept. , where it’s pennies on the dollar! The Attorney General in TX,NY, and NY are getting notified, as I don’t want any other consumer getting hosed by these crooks!

Type of a scam Moving

This place is a joke and NOTHING BUT SCAM ARTISTS. We signed a contract with US standard moving and somehow it got brokered out to this joke of a company. We were told no more than 6k and now they are charging us 13k and we have to give them a money order to get our stuff? Even when the USPS site says money order can not be over 1,000. The customer service rep who we have been contacting with and has been rude and threatening. Her name is VANESSA. She texted us at like 10 pm at night after telling us we could finish the payment on credit card said we could and we were SOL. Even after they lied to us, brought the wrong size truck, destroyed my home and left me hours of cleaning, tried to go into a LOCKED ROOM THAT WE TOLD THEM HAD NOTHING IN THERE BUT OUR PETS. But it’s okay they just want to see my pets? No, you are there to do a job and we have a baby proof lock on the door for a reason. Luckily the team wasn’t smart enough to figure that out.

But best part I told VANESSA she was acting like a ***  but she wasn’t giving my husband and I straight answer and honestly sounded strung out on some type of illegal drug. She screamed at me and told me to go GO *** MYSELF and hung up and refused to answers calls. Also told us the call was recorded but did let tell us prior which you cannot record someone without their knowledge.

I will be getting a lawyer. Do yourself a favor and avoid this scam of company like the plague. They enjoy making innocent families go bankrupt so they can have THEIR property back.

Oh and they left my house a mess and broke my front door and refuse to pay for it
