Type of a scam Employment

Recently I have been looking online for jobs in the Little Rock, Arkansas, area. During this process I received an email from a James Robert who said he was representing Rockstar Energy Drink and that they were looking for people that were willing to have a wrap installed on their car advertising the Rockstar Energy Drink. He stated that they would pay $500/week for this. I responded to the email stating that I might be interested and wanted more information. I then received an email stating that I would be sent a check for $2,850, of which I was to pay the wrap installer $2,350, and to keep $500 for my first week’s pay. I was then sent a check for $2,850 from "STF 826 Crown Street Holding, LLC in Woodmere, NY. Instructions were included telling me to deposit the check immediately, then to send them a copy of the deposit slip to 626-244-2592. When they received this information, they would send me further instructions. I have not done anything with this check. Is this a scam? If so, is there anything that I should do?
