Type of a scam Tech Support

Attempting to install a Rock Space AC1200 WiFi repeater. Purchased on Amazon. Wanted to install using Wed UI for greater security. Following enclosed instructions, visited site listed to set up account. Couldn’t find the screen as pictured in instructions. Tech support chat popped up. Finally clicked on it. Person via chat asked for info on product and issue. Seemed legit. Asked for access to my laptop to assist. Stupidly allowed it. She asked questions re my issue, and ran some program. Asked me to reset the device. I did, then silence. Asked “what do I do next? Hello?” She chatted back “$79.99 to fix.” I immediately terminated chat and connection and turned off laptop. I restarted and ran security scans. Did not find any issues. However fear that she may have had access to personal and financial information. Don’t want this to happen to anyone else.
