Gentleman asked for the owner of the house by name. When I asked to take a message he said he was representing Veterans. I asked to be taken off his list since my husband donates via mailed requests, and he said he wasn’t asking about money but that the call was about our address, and that he’d call back when my husband was in and hung up. His number was on caller ID so I called him back to request that he take us off of his list and he hung up without answering. I call back again, and he finally said that each time I called we’d be added back onto the list. I said all he had to do was talk to me civilly and acknowledge my request. He hung up again. My concern is that he has our address and his number is within our Area Code. It is obviously a scam as the "Veterans" anything wouldn’t know something about our house that we don’t know. Likely tried to get us to refinance or something, but if he gets someone on the line who is prone to fear tactics, they might believe him.
