I received a text email to my phone asking me to contact via email someone regarding a donation being made to "improve poverty in my area" that I was to distribute. I responded only with my mailing address as they stated I would receive a courier check. Suspicious throughout, I did not divulge any personal information (SS# or banking etc). The email I was asked to respond to was actually a different one: Identifying themselves as Adrian and Gillian Bayford at [email protected]

I knew it was a scam when they asked me to provide them with $499.64 to deliver the check.

PAYMENT TERMS:

You are entitle to pay for the delivery fees of your parcel to be delivered to you. After we have confirm the payment, then we will proceed with the delivery of your parcel at once over to your registered addresses. Payments will be done at any MONEY GRAM location close to you because it very fast and reliable since most of our customers prefer their services. You are to make payment with the details of one of our representative in your country which we will send to you after you pick your delivery option.

NOTE!!!

We do not accept cash on delivery (COD) proposal for such package. Air sure charge for onward delivery must be paid through our choice of service to our office as instructed within a period of 1 working day after the receipt of this mail so do make urgent contact with me upon receipt of this mail with payment information.

Finally upon receipt of full payment , your parcel shall be dispatched. As soon as we complete the shipment process an original scanned copy of your parcel shipment dispatch slip and the tracking number of the shipment will be sent to you for your verification.
