Type of a scam Employment

I got an email from [email protected] for a work from home job. As I had been applying for those kind of jobs I didn’t initially find it suspicious. The initial email had me communicate to someone who identified as Mrs. Micaiah Olson ([email protected]) using google hangout. The offered $21 per hour for the training and $30 per hour after training for a work at home data entry position. The chat was very quick. It was either a bot of someone copy/pasting blocks of text. The ‘hired’ me right then and there. They said that they would provide me with new office equipment including: Brand new Apple Laptop, All in one printer, scanner and fax machine, Iphone 6plu, Telephone, Mini office stationaries, Data Entry softwares.

They said they were going to send me a check to purchase all this stuff from verified vendors. At this point I asked for contact info from their HR department. Once I asked if this was a scam they blocked all communication from me.
