Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

We placed an ad on KSL and were contacted immediately by a guy named Brian who wanted to buy the item and pay to have it shipped, offering extra money. In a few days we received a cashier’s check for much more than offered. He texted that his secretary made a mistake and asked us to distribute money to other sellers. When we refused the messages immediately stopped. The check was from MI, but the letter came from SC. A few days later we were contacted again from another number asking about the item we no longer had listed. Turns out it was Brian…we called him out on it and he dropped off again.
