Total money lost $800

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I did some research online to purchase a west highland terrier puppy. I stumbled upon their website which said they had puppies available for $800. I reached out to them, and they responded quickly. They asked questions about our home life and even suggested a puppy named regina. They also sent us pictures of her that weren’t on the website. As we proceeded with the process, they sent us a bill of sale to sign and email back, which we did. Then they told us once they received the payment through money gram or western union they would have the puppy shipped to us. However, once we sent the money they never contacted us again. I thought it was suspicious, so I googled the phone number associated with them and discovered two websites where people reported them saying they were also scammed through the same process.

I also reached out to money gram, and they said the person picked up the money already. I tried calling the people and they didn’t reply. I then did another google search on the address they gave us on the bill of sale which is 887 West Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. This lead to a coffee shop in Georgia. Also, when we researched the name "Cooper Cohen" that was given it lead us to a law firm located in Atlanta. We also discovered the phone number given is through a text app called "Text Now".

So far we have filed a police report. However, it seems like we probably won’t be able to get our money back at this point.

Total money lost $1,600

Type of a scam Online Purchase

Contacted them about purchasing 2 Westies. Their offer was $800.00 a puppy with shipping included. Money was sent via Western Union. After receipt of the money I received an email from Bolden Pet Air for the transport. They wanted $1,400 due to the fact that one of the dogs did not have health clearance. I did not send that money and was then aware that this was a scam and I had been taken.
