Type of a scam Tech Support

Got a siren and loud talking from my computer warning of malware attack. Message indicated it came from Microsoft and added a phone number to call to report it. Restarted my computer but the same msg popped up when I opened up a browser. Should have called Microsoft (the bonafide one) right off but I was foolish enough to call the number on my screen. So-called tech person managed to take control of my computer and added a malware tracker. Signed up for 5 yr service contract. Same company called back a week later to run an update. i was told that the software installed earlier was not compatible to my Windows version and that they would refund my service contract. They would install another compatible software but I would have to pay for it. I told them to just defer the refund to pay. They said no, could not use same credit card. Sounded fishy, especially when it was mentioned to pay thru popmoney or gift card and they tried to transfer my funds from savings to checking. I argued with them about the way they were forcing me to give them money. I immediately took control of my computer, closed out the bank info and ended their scan and installation. As they tried to override my control I managed to uninstall all their software. I immediately changed the passwords to my banking info. Same tech called back saying I cut off their scan and I needed to give them control. I told them I would call them back as weather was disrupting call. I never called back, they never called back. I’ve checked my banking and credit card info for the last week and I don’t see any signs of hacking.
