Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I saw an ad to advertise and make some money through Dr. Pepper Car Wrap. I was sent a check in the amount of $2880 and was to deposit the check and then email [email protected] There was a second email address of [email protected] The letter said that I was to keep $500 as my first weeks pay. I did not deposit the check and was told that had I deposited it and contacted them I would be told to wire money elsewhere and then I would be responsible for all the money.
