Global is taking money out of
my 93 year old mothers account. She
does not remember giving them
consent to her account. The bank will
not stop payment on this account
because PWA has her account
number. Changing her bank account
is a huge problem. Do you have any
suggestion on this problem

This company contacted my father who is in a protected class, he is 78 years old and has alzheimer’s. They are taking $19.90 per month from his account and it is unauthorized.

PWA Global has been taking money out of my 88 year old Mother’s bank account since 2015. The amount is now totaling at least $145.25. I will have to have the bank send me her account info for the previous years. As her daughter, I have power of attorney and have taken over her finances. She lives in an assisted living facility. She did not understand what she was “signing up” for. This company is such a scam. I believe they target the elderly. They initially asked for a check for $5.95. Since she sent that check in, they have been taking money out of her account in the amount of $19.90 each month using the routing and account numbers from her check. I have tried calling the number they use from the bank draft, 866-236-3714. If they answer, when I ask them to stop and refund her money, they hang up on me. I will be I have contacted the bank and they say we will need to close this account and open a new one. Which means re-setting up all of her auto pays and auto deposits.

They think they get around this because of the fine print on the back of the form, saying the person agreed to this. But, some people, especially the elderly, do not have the capacity to understand this. This company knows this, so the scam is perpetuated.
