Type of a scam Online Purchase

Clicked on a skincare trial called Pure Radiance and Radiant Allure. Knowingly purchased two samples for $4.95. Kept getting items in the mail and looked a few times in my inbox to find the company to stop sending me product. During the holidays I kept getting distracted after searching so I gave up. Didn’t realize they were charging about $90 to my credit card 4x a month, twice from two different companies for refills. I finally found a number to call. The agent mentioned I clicked on a recurring charge agreement (it must have been in a hidden terms/conditions because it was NOT clear and visible). I offered to send all of them back because they are all unopened. He said that is not an option, but offered to cancel my account and refund me $165 (two charges), but I have been charged over $508 so I asked for it to be elevated to his supervisor. I am waiting for 2 days for a call back before I elevate even further to an attorney. Totally unfair and a scam. What if people couldn’t pay their rent and these charges were going on? It could really hurt people!!
