Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
A person, Robert Johnson, called me on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at 8:15 am on my cell phone. He said I had won the publishing company’s $1,000,000 prize plus a Mercedes car. I said that I thought the publishing company comes to the house with balloons and a big check. He said they would do that but to get this prize, I needed to go to Food Lion to pick up my government receipt. I would pay $199 and send this to Alicia Johnson. I asked where this person was located and he said Jamaica. I responded that the publishing company was not located in Jamaica but here in US. He then hung up. The phone no. from which he called me is 878-275-8337, a Jamaican number. I played along with him so I could see where this scheme was going. Reported this to Chesterfield Police yesterday. Johnson did not have an accent.
