Got a call from someone named James Shapiro saying he’s from PCH and that I won $1 million and a car. He told me that I needed to call another number, (508) 388-3514, but nobody answered at that number. He also said that I needed to get money from my bank to pay them so I can receive my prize and that’s when I got suspicious.

I received a private message from one of my facebook friends asking how much did I win in the Publishing Clearing House? Said she seen my name and picture on hers. She gave me a contact and number to text and claim my prize. The person immediately begin texting and emailing me through a fake process of claiming a prize. It came down to me prepaying for delivery and admin cost a total of $3000. This had to be paid before they delivered my winnings. I immediately knew this was a scam. Publisher’s Clearing House does not operate like this nor do they have gmail accounts. Obviously, someone has hacked my Facebook account somehow and gotten access to my friends and sent me the initial message.

I was contacted by a man going by the name of John Kerry and his Supervisor/Delivery Manager called Baskin White claiming to be from Publisher’s Clearing House stating that I was a sweepstakes winner of $18,500,000.00 and a Mercedes C class vehicle, I was the winner of a drawing at a Walmart that I didn’t even enter into. Now they are asking that I send them $220 to pay for Registration fees with the IRS for an accessors fee and that it should be paid at Walmart. I have contacted Publisher’s Clearing House to report this issue with them. They are claiming to be registered with the ScamPulse.com and the U.S. Department of Treasury and that I would receive a Cashier’s Check but I have to have an active checking account in order to receive my prize.

A man called saying he was Publisher’s Clearing House and I won $2.5 million and a 2018 cherry red Mercedes Benz. He didn’t ask any personal information, but gave me codes for security, etc. that I was to write down. It sounded like a legitimate thing until he asked to go to a Western Union and put money onto a card. He insisted that I would be able to hold onto the card until I received my prize. When I questioned about the legitimacy of the prize, he said what’s $550 to what you would win. At this point, I googled and read Publisher’s Clearing House, while although it is a real thing, they will never call you ahead of time if you actually win. So while it sounded like a legitimate thing, a quick Google search reassured my suspicion that this phone call was too good to be true and I promptly told the man I was hanging up and reporting him. Never give out personal information or pay anything ahead of time, no matter how legitimate it sounds.

They called and said I won 6.5 million and a 2018 Mercedes Convertible. They text me a pic of car.

Said I owed 6% of taxes and that Oprah had paid most of it.

I told him I didn’t have it but he worked his way down to $200. I went to the post office and sent the cash in an envelope to Maria San Juanita Gonzalez, Hot Springs California.

I called ScamPulse.com and they told me it was a scam. At their direction, I went back to Post office and was able to stop the overnight package and got my money back.

Person claimed to be General Manager of Publisher’s Clearing House and talking about something. I couldn’t understand them and I hung up. They called back and instead of hello I said an annoyed Yes, then realized what I just did and was kicking myself. They started to scold me for hanging up and I asked how they got my number. I told them I’m on the do not call list and they should not be soliciting me. More claims to be GM of PCH, yadda, yadda, yadda. I hung up again and saw the number from Jamaica.
