Type of a scam Employment
On Tuesday Feb. 12th I was contacted via text by a “Mr Frank Rochester” who said that he worked for a company PTT Global Chemical Co. He said he was contacting me about a job position that I applied for online on Indeed “remote graphic designer”. He said can I do an interview today, I said yes. He said the interview would have to be on google hangout app, ok. So went through interview questions seemed normal graphic design related questions, 30 minutes. He says I need to show the results to my board of directors, stay online 15 mins. Then he says you have the job sent the job offer via e-mail, please sign & return asap. Job offer arrives in word doc via e-mail, I see it looks strange several misspellings and things worded odd. So I ask hime to send his linking profile, no response – ask if I can call him directly – no. I see his e-mail is gmail not corporate which is odd. He then says via chat you will have to buy our office equipment, we will mail you a check – you will have to buy from our vendor. MacBook, camera, scanner etc. Their website also looked phony to me. So, that’s when I ended it.
